Nate Wood fOUR @ The Wheatsheaf Hotel

Don't miss out on this opportunity to see the Nate improvise with multiple instruments at once in this intimate setting!

The Grammy Nominated multi-instrumentalist has created a project that is a truly ambitious take on going solo. Wood is playing everything — analog synths, drums, bass, guitar and vocals —at the same time! As well, he’s recording every song in one pass with no overdubs, click track or pre-recorded backing tracks.

“That’s why it’s called fOUR, because it’s me with four limbs playing four instruments at once.” fOUR veers from complex, space-y prog rock to electronic-tinged instrumentals
The night will be opened by Brisbane duo STAC (Steve Newcomb & Isaac Cavallaro): a highly improvised, cinematically powered, electronically saturated journey though a matrix of original songs and re-mixes.

Hannah Macklin [album launch]

with KRUNJ & Shamin

Meanjin (turned Naarm, turned Meanjin) progressive siren Hannah Macklin launches her debut album “Mu” - a glittering piece of cosmic orchestral soul - with support from two forward-thinking local acts TBA soon.

Macklin will perform on the night with an expanded 10-piece band, including a string section and extra voices, to do justice to the album’s arrangements.

Drawing inspiration for the night’s proceedings from the album’s namesake - a Zen Buddhist term meaning “nothingness / emptiness / pure awareness" - this will be more than a gig; an event of artistic devotion to stimulate the heart, mind and senses.
