hannah macklin + nathan macgregor + steve newcomb + wilsen conn, an unmissable night of soul, RnB and fusion at your favourite lounge room in the city - can you keep a secret.
hannah macklin: meanjin vocal legend. best known for work in MKO Sun, bastard amber, laik & hannah maxx. hannah's holistic musical approach, absolute mothaf**kery and general beastliness makes her a singer to pay close attention to - we're honoured to have her on this gig.
steve newcomb: meanjin based keyboard wizard with experience worldwide. literally any sound you could ever imagine, steve thought of it years ago. smelted in the gauntlet of kenny barron, wayne shorter, herbie hancock and more, steve's ability to weld the organ as a 6 ft longsword will lay you flat on your back.
nathan macgregor: make sure you bring aloe vera to this gig because nathan will leave you covered head to toe in 3rd degree burns. as the father of HRBRT, nathan has contributed immensely to brisbane's live electronic/house/dance scene and his sound is unmissable. one of those players you could pick in a blind test any day of the week.
wilsen conn: a humble student of the three aforementioned musicians, wilsen contributes to mackmacnewconn in musical director/guitarist/bassist capacity. as an avid disciple of west coast jazz and east coast hip hop, wilsen only strives to navigate the tightrope of feel & exploration with grace.
